I think the folks at my local library are on to me. The King County Library offers a wonderful service - I can log on to their site, search the entire catalog, and have any book/cd/audiobook/dvd/etc that one of the libraries has delivered to my local library in Bellevue.

Lately I’ve been adding folks to my Goodreads friends list. Think of Goodreads as FriendFeed for Amazon - I can read reviews and ratings from just the folks I choose. This morning’s find was a book I read a long time ago, and I need to read again - Garry Wills’ “Lincoln at Gettysburg” - a wonderful analysis of the speech that always reminds me how wonderful the gift of powerful oratory skills can be to a person.

Firebug is a godsend to me. Firebug provides one of the easiest ways to see exactly what CSS tags are affecting a specific item in your HTML.  I switch WordPress themes rather often, and it’s always an adventure learning how someone set up their style sheet.  Firebug’s inspect mode lets me point to a specific place on a page, and see all the CSS tags that influence the display.  I can then edit the CSS on the fly, and Firebug will save those edits during the session.  I can see how all my changes affect a page before I choose to upload the updated CSS to my server. 

via Blogging Pro I found a nice little WordPress plug-in that cleans up the email notifications you receive when someone leaves a comment.  If you run a WordPress blog, do yourself a favor and subscribe to Blogging Pro…

While searching for a solution with an comment notification issue problem, I stumbled upon Clean Notifications by Mike Davidson, of Newsvine fame.

What does Clean Notifactions do?

Since WP sends out plain text emails, all of the links get spelled out as raw, unstyled URLs and the emails end up containing probably twice the amount of visible characters than they need to. This is especially frustrating when you’re trying to read notifications from a mobile device like the Jesusphone.
